THE COLLECTION

Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall actively supports and contributes to contemporary culture. The collection has been part of Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall since the start in 1987.

Currently there are approximately 600 works in the collection. Many of them are three-dimensional but also included are many works on paper and photography - all in correspondence with the wide spectrum of the exhibition program.

The exhibition Plingeling, 2003/2004, was a merge between two separate collections: Magasin 3 and Norrköpings Konstmuseum. Walking & Falling, 2006, was an exhibition with artists represented in the collection, the works exhibited were both from the collection and loans from galleries and other institutions. The collection has also been shown at other institutions both in Sweden and abroad. Most recently in Paris, 2003 at Centre Culturel Suédois but also at Arken, Denmark in 1997.

Jim's Room is a space specifically used to enable a flexible working method. The exhibitions relate to the collection of Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall and are on view for a shorter period of time than usual. Current program in Jim's Room >

Site-specific works

Many of the works in the collection are specifically produced for exhibitions at Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall. Through the site-specific works and the close collaboration with the artists, the history of Magasin 3 is well documented in the collection.
