ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall plays an active part on the contemporary cultural scene by introducing and presenting new artists and supporting artistic production. The collection has been a part of Magasin 3 since the institution was founded in 1987.
At present we have about 600 artworks in the collection. Most of them are three-dimensional but there are also a large number of drawings, photographic works and videos – in line with the breadth and diversity of our exhibition program. The collection includes everything from works in thin thread to a truck loaded with bundles of shimmering cloth. The smallest sculpture is two centimeters high and the longest measures twenty meters. The collection even includes artworks in the form of constructed situations involving the viewer, as well as a generator that illuminates a neighboring building.
Several of the works were specially produced for exhibitions at Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall. Through these site-specific commissions, purchases made outside of our exhibition program as well as our close collaboration with artists, our collection is constantly growing.
Artworks from our collection are shown regularly at Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall. The following are a selection of previous exhibitions of works from our collection:
