Baselitz + Hill

Georg Baselitz, Carl Fredrik Hill
September 24, 1995 - January 14, 1996
Curator: David Neuman

Four sculptures and eleven paintings from the years 1993-1996 by the German artist Georg Baselitz, in the artist’s first exhibition in Stockholm. The works are presented together with drawings by the Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Hill (1849-1911). Georg Baselitz has for a long time been relating to Sweden through his profound interest in the artist Carl Fredrik Hill. This interest has, among other things, resulted in a book. This is part of the reason for Magasin 3’s exhibition with a representative selection of the work of Carl Fredrik Hill, approximately 100 drawings from private and public collections, as if Carl Fredrik Hill were a contemporary artist colleague of Georg Baselitz.
